Aronia melanocarpa is a North American shrub, which bears fruit similar in appearance to a blueberry.

Native Americans valued its medicinal qualities and  many countries around the world today recognize its health benefits.  

It is planted and processed in many parts of Europe with  Poland being one of the major growers of the fruit which can be used whole - fresh or frozen, juiced for jams, jellies, candies, beverages, frozen sorbets, wine and food colorings as well as dried for nutrient supplements and additives.
